FAQ

  • What conditions do you treat?
I specialize in treating a range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, OCD, bipolar disorder, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. My services are tailored to address each client’s unique needs, incorporating both medication management and therapeutic techniques.
  • What are Specific Outcome Sessions (S.O.S.), and how are they different from regular therapy?
S.O.S. sessions are designed to address a specific, pressing issue in a short amount of time, typically just 1-3 sessions. This is ideal for clients who have a particular challenge or decision they’d like to resolve quickly and are not seeking long-term therapy. S.O.S. sessions focus on providing clarity, relief, and a new perspective on issues like relationship conflicts, work stress, or recurring patterns.
  • How does Heart Centered Hypnotherapy work?
Heart-Centered-Hypnotherapy® approaches therapy from a deeply caring and dynamically healing perspective that every client contains, deeply within their own subconscious mind, the key to their own individual health and healing. In talk therapy or counseling sessions we have spent years communicating with the conscious mind of our abused, addicted, depressed and anxious clients. In speaking with the conscious mind of our clients, we can offer them behavioral solutions, insight, empathy and positive affirmations. We can try to help them understand their difficulties, but this method contains limitations and often does not produce long lasting changes in their emotions or behavior. It does not relieve their anxiety or depression and talking certainly is extremely limited in treating and eliminating addictive behavior. Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy® excels because of the understanding that within the subconscious mind of each person is the deeply held key that unlocks the client’s individual inner guidance. This technique requires the clinician to sense and to feel exactly where the client needs to go to address the blockages which have kept them stuck in unhealthy patterns.
  • Do you offer virtual appointments?
Yes, I offer telemedicine appointments for all services, allowing you to receive support from the comfort of your own home. Virtual sessions are secure and convenient, designed to provide the same level of care as in-person appointments.
  • How do I know if you’re the right provider for me?
Finding the right provider is about alignment and connection. I encourage you to learn more about my professional experience and personal journey on our About Us page. Additionally, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs, answer questions, and help you determine if my approach is the right fit for you.
  • What should I expect during our first session?
In our first session, we’ll take time to discuss your current concerns, past experiences, and goals. I’ll conduct a thorough assessment to better understand your unique needs and recommend a treatment plan tailored to your situation. This may include medication management, therapy, or integrative approaches, depending on what aligns best with your goals.
  • Do you accept insurance?
Please contact us to learn about our insurance and payment options. I strive to make services accessible to all clients and offer flexible payment options if needed.
  • How often will I need to attend sessions?
The frequency of sessions will depend on your personal needs and treatment plan. Some clients benefit from weekly sessions, while others find bi-weekly or monthly sessions to be more appropriate. During our initial assessment, we’ll discuss a plan that suits your schedule and goals.
  • What if I need additional support between sessions?
I understand that challenges can arise between sessions, and I encourage clients to reach out if they need additional support. Based on your needs, I can provide resources, recommend mindfulness exercises, or discuss options for scheduling a check-in.
  • Can you prescribe medication?
Yes, as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I am licensed to prescribe medication. If medication is determined to be beneficial for you, I will work with you to ensure the treatment is safe, effective, and tailored to your needs.
  • What is your approach to holistic and integrative care?
My approach focuses on blending traditional psychiatry with holistic practices, such as nutrition, herbal supplements, and lifestyle changes, to address the whole person. I believe that mental health and physical wellness are deeply connected, and our sessions will explore how various elements of your life impact your overall well-being.
